What is the difference between factory unlocked and non-factory unlocked iPhones?

Factory unlocked means the iPhone is legitimately unlocked by Apple. Non-factory unlocked means iPhone was originally locked when purchased, but was later unlocked using hacking technique. Non-factory unlocks are usually less stable and would be re-locked when upgrading the firmware.

@manish sidhu: Don't get Sprint iPhone 5 buddy, there is no unlock for this phone, rather you can get an AT&T iPhone 5 and get it factory unlocked from any trusted website. I have tried http://iosbasics.com who do AT&T factory unlocking for just @15, they are god and they know their shit.
Alternatively you may look at Verizon iPhone 5 as well, I heard initial lot was already factory unlocked.

If you are trying to unlock a ATT phone, go check out attiphoneunlocking, it is the most reliable unlocking site around.

If anyone wants to unlock any phone with carrier ATT, go check out attiphoneunlocking, took me about 2 hours to unlock my 4s.

iPhone Lock means you can only use it to the carrier it is under.

iPhone Factory Unlock is a permanent solution to free your iPhone from any SIM card restrictions imposed by Apple and your service provider, so that you can use it with any GSM SIM card provider worldwide (example T-Mobile). I just did mine at http://jailbreakhome.com/iphone-factory-unlock.

I always have trouble unlocking ATT phones, because ATT doesn't allow phones to be unlocked if the contract is not over, so i have been using attiphoneunlocking for 3 phones already, really good site for unlocking

Hi,
First you must know what is unlocking is all about.Unlocking a Iphone4 is nothing but removing the restriction of the phone to use it with any other network of your choice. There are different way to unlock a Iphone from its carrier like calling the service provider and requesting him to unlock your phone, but this may take some time may be days, weeks or even month to unlock your phone the second method is by taking your Iphone to the shop to unlock it but it is not a reliable way to unlock because some time the phone may be bricked or hard locked. The third method is by using the jailbreak technique ,by using the jailbreak technique you can unlock your phone but it may not be a permanent unlock solution because once you upgrade the phone it may roll back to lock status. The last method is by using the remote unlock solution,This remote unlock service is said to be one of the best way to unlock a Iphone without bricking or hard locking the phone. And this remote unlocking is a permanent unlock solution for the mobile. If you are interested in getting the remote unlock service then visit the site http://www.wickedunlock.com/apple-iphone-4/rs16wp9/ here they are providing the remote unlock service for most of the model Iphone. You can avail the service by providing some basic information about the phone like the country and the network to which the phone is locked with .after providing this information you can avail the service to unlock the Iphone to use it with any other GSM network of your choice .
